Devlog 002 — Void Deepens

Hey there!

Welcome to Devlog #02 for Lambda//Void — thanks so much for sticking around and diving deeper into this cyberpunk lambda calculus world.

Since the first devlog, I’ve been heads-down improving the core gameplay and polishing the overall experience. Here’s what’s new and improved in this update:

What’s new in Devlog #02:

Save & Load system is fully implemented and stable — your progress is safe, no more losing tokens or upgrades when you close the tab!

Achievements & Lore Fragments are now unlocked dynamically as you play — rewarding you for milestones like your first reduction or compiling reality.

Expression Visualizer got a major upgrade — it now draws your lambda expressions like glitchy neon trees, animating smoothly and reflecting complexity.

Upgraded Quantum Lambda Functions and a revamped Qubit economy add strategic depth — quantum upgrades now interact more meaningfully with your lambda reductions.

Glitchy Cyberpunk UI is cleaner, more readable, and responsive — menus fade in nicely, buttons have better hover effects, and the whole aesthetic feels sharper and more immersive.

✅ A simple tutorial modal helps onboard new players without overwhelming — step-by-step guidance pops up only when you start, with clear Next buttons.

✅ Basic but useful game log tracks important events and achievements, so you always know what’s going on.

Quality of life improvements:

  • Improved UI layout inspired by Terraformental — everything fits nicely on screen, with the main stats on the left and action buttons grouped logically below.

  • Fixed bugs with button clicks and state updates — no more “buttons not working” errors!

  • Performance tweaks on expression drawing — smoother animations without lag.

What’s coming next?

🧠 Recursive expressions and fixed-point combinators (the famous Y combinator) to unlock deeper lambda calculus mechanics.

🌌 Multi-layered prestige system with branching tech trees to add long-term progression.

📈 Graphs and stats showing function complexity and reduction rates over time.

🎵 Ambient glitch soundtrack and immersive sound effects.

📕 Optional learn-as-you-play knowledge base, so you can actually understand the math behind the fun.

I’m super grateful for all the feedback, bug reports, and ideas from this awesome community. Every playtest and comment helps make Lambda//Void better.

If you’re new here, dive in and start generating and reducing lambda expressions — the void awaits.
